I have been with the company for almost five years, and I’ve always had a good, almost familial relationship with my colleagues and the management. Even when I wasn’t able to continue my studies, Hillebrand Coating gave me the chance to become an integral part of the team. Something like that cannot be taken for granted.
If problems arise, we have concerns or want to make suggestions for improvements, we are always listened to and our words are acted upon. The company is constantly investing in my area, so I have the opportunity to work with the latest technology.

I have been working at the company Hillebrand Coating since 2008, and I have already participated in many of the training programs on offer. For starters, to strengthen my professional position and secondly, to develop myself. Currently, I am completing training for machine operators and I think it’s good how much Hillebrand Coating values trained staff. The competent staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, answering questions and jointly seeking solutions to emerging problems.
For the theoretical part of the training, which takes place in a classroom once a week and is one of the most important aspects of the training, you get released from Hillebrand Coating. The work days are tailored to the course and it turns out to be relatively simple to combine the two. By combining school with the daily work, you can implement what you learn and understand the theory better.
Thanks to Hillebrand Coating, there are no limits to what you can learn. With ample support from the company, additional training is simple and straightforward. If more training became an option for me, I would always participate with the support of the company.
My Career – So Far …
I’ve been with Hillebrand Coating for seven years now. My career I started in August 2010 with a studies in two areas. Here, I completed the training as an industrial clerk in 1.5 years, while studying for 3.5 years at the Administration and Business Academy in Arnsberg. My degree is in business administration. During my training I got to know all the departments of the company and was able to directly link the theory with my work practice. Since completing my training as an industrial clerk, I am employed in accounting, purchasing, and human resources.
I especially liked the support of my colleagues during my studies, for example, when I had to write term papers or my dissertation. Also, because this is a family business, I had the chance to use my knowledge not only in a limited area, but also beyond, because I am responsible for several areas.
After I had successfully completed the dual bachelor degree, I decided to proceed with a new and more challenging task and attach a dual master’s program. I did my master’s program at the Ruhr West College in Mülheim on the Ruhr. This program built on my bachelor degree, focusing on finance and controlling and took 2.5 years. The program at the University of Ruhr-West can be completed in less time. Throughout the study period, I was supported by the company (free on attendance days and financially supported). Through the dual degree, I discovered that you can learn from a wide variety of experiences of fellow students, while also exchanging technical information. This way, you find correlations or differences to work in your department and learn from it. Likewise, a dual degree gives you the possibility to gain work experience and earn money, while obtaining a nationally and internationally recognized university degree.
I feel good at Hillebrand Coating, because you feel extremely welcome by colleagues and are always supported with any questions. Why do I like working at Hillebrand-Erbslöh Oberflächen?
I was able to get to know Hillebrand Coating for the first time during an internship during the summer. Then, after my high-school diploma in 2011, I started training here in mechatronics. My colleagues were friendly and cooperative, so that I quickly became part of the team. During the training, I got to know all areas of the company and if problems arose, I could always rely on the help of my colleagues. The use of modern technologies such as robotics and automation technology and the daily changing challenges make the work very interesting and varied. During the training, my knowledge was constantly expanding through internal and external training and greatly encouraged throughout.
After my training, I started and advanced training course as a technician in mechatronics. Here, too, I received the support of Hillebrand Coating, which enabled me to attend training at an evening school while continuing daytime employment.
I especially like the varied work, the family atmosphere, and the constant encouragement for my skills at Hillebrand.
As a trained vehicle varnisher and “woman in a man’s job” my entry into industrial coating technology at Hillebrand Coating was made very easy. This may be down to an intensive training period, as well as comprehensive training and education. When it comes to new projects, we are involved as employees and can contribute ideas and make suggestions at any time. Everyone is given the opportunity to show where his/her personal strengths lie, so we can collectively contribute to the success of the company.
The company is very success-oriented, but despite all that, I appreciate it very much that everything happens very close to the people. Events like a company run or a driver safety training are on offer to promote the good relationships which already exist among colleagues. You like the boss’s daily tour just as much as a personal conversation with him. You never feel abandoned by your superiors, and you can always approach them with your requests and concerns.
